Tests

Tucked away on my bookshelf, an Anthology of Poetry by Young Americans 1991 Edition lay. Inside are poems created by young students who attended the same school as I.
This particular poem is about tests and is written by a young girl named Christina Martinez who was 11 years old at the time of publication.

TESTS
by Christina Martinez

Tests are no fun. I don't like them,
At all.
I'd rather go bowling with a thousand,
Pound ball.
Tests are no fun. I don't like them,
One bit.
I'd like to tear them in shreds and,
In bits.
Tests are no fun. They are boring,
And dull.
That's why I don't like them, don't like them,
At all.
